How to Create an Effective ‘Thank You’ Page for Your Opt-In Funnel
The ‘Thank You’ page is an essential part of your opt-in funnel that should not be underestimated.
It’s more than just a message of gratitude—it is an opportunity to engage with your new subscribers and guide them toward further interaction.
Let’s explore how you can create a compelling ‘Thank You’ page that enhances user experience and boosts conversion.
1. Confirmation Message
The primary goal of your thank you page is to reassure users that their action was successful. Whether they’ve subscribed to your newsletter or signed up for a webinar, make it clear that their information has been received. For example:
“Thank you for subscribing! We got your details”
"You're confirmed for our upcoming webinar! Check your inbox for more details."
A clear, reassuring message removes doubt and confusion to your new subscribers.
2. Call-to-Action
Inform your subscribers what they should expect and what they should do next by using Call-to-Actions or CTAs.
This could be telling them to check their inbox for the promised freebie, or confirmation of their attendance and additional information about the training they signed up for.
You can include instructions to your new subscriber that look something like these:
- Tell them what to look for in their inbox.
- Tell them the subject line of the email that they should have got.
- Ask them to check their SPAM folder if they don't see the email in their primary inbox.
By providing specific instructions to your new subscriber, you can increase the likelihood of engagement.
3. Request for Whitelisting
To ensure that free contents are delivered consistently and successfully to subscribers’ primary inboxes, ask users to whitelist your email address.
Whitelisting will help prevent your emails from being sent to the user’s Spam folder.
You can include instructions on how to whitelist (if you think your audience doesn’t know how to do it) on some major email platforms.
4. Instruction for Missing Freebie
Your users not receiving the freebie can happen, if this comes up, just let them know what to do if it happens.
Ask them to email you at your EMAIL ID and mention that they haven't received the freebie, so you can send it to them manually.
This is the script I use on my thank you page. Get inspired!
Thank you, we got your details.
Now check your email … I sent you something special, with the subject line "{Download} Your FREE Guide on How to Optimize Your Podcast Show Notes for the Win" is here.
Please check your SPAM folder if you do not see my email in your inbox and remember to whitelist my email address so we can be in touch.
If you do not receive the freebie in 10 minutes, please email me at [email protected] and I will fix it for you.
5. Encourage Further Engagement
Invite subscribers to take additional actions to deepen their connection with your brand.
You can invite them to join your free community (if you have one), connect on social media, or visit your website.
Encouraging further engagement extends the relationship beyond the 'Thank You' page.
6. Avoid Direct Download on the 'Thank You' page
This is a common mistake I see happening, you don't want to give the download on the thank you page because you want to train them to look for content from you that comes in emails. Plus this is the PERFECT time to get them to whitelist your emails.
Don't let your 'Thank You' page be an afterthought in your opt-in funnel's strategy.
By implementing these tips, you'll enhance user experience, nurture connections, and boost the effectiveness of your opt-in page.
